Inspired by the Oak and Cedar trees that grew in my grandmother’s yard, the Mary Mack Tree Crest is entwined with their branches and leaves and dotted with the acorns of the water oak. And not to be forgotten are the squirrels that made their home in them.

Created from a commissioned watercolor, the crest design is exclusive to Mary Mack.

The Backstory

My grandmother always handwashed her delicate items and always hung everything on her clothesline to dry. And while handwashing can certainly prolong the life of your mighty pretty things, it is not always the most practical approach. Thankfully we have delicate cycles on washing machines and low temperature setting on dryers. So, my suggestion is machine wash cool, tumble dry low and press.

Taking Care

washing

We suggest using a gentle soap that contains no perfumes or dyes and always washing with cold water. Always avoid chlorine bleach as it will, over time, yellow your linens. It is also quite harsh and weakens the fibers.

drying

Always dry on the lowest temperature setting and never
completely dry. Removing your linens while still damp can help prolong their life as heat dries out the fibers. And if planning to iron, it definitely makes the task much easier.

Ironing

The best time to iron your linens is when they are still damp. Iron linens on reverse side using a well-padded ironing board. Starch is encouraged if using your linens immediately but discouraged if storing as it will yellow linens over time.

For years I had been searching for a Houston based embroidery specialist to refer our customers to when they wanted to add a monogram to our bedding collections. Sondra is the most skilled and fabulously creative person! She is a perfectionist in everything that she does and is always a pleasure to work with. She has incredible technical knowledge as well as a wonderful sentimental spirit. I have collaborated with her on many custom projects and she never disappoints

So fortunate to find Sondra and Mary Mack! Loved partnering with her on several projects – from straightforward to complex.  So fun to work with an artist! I completely trust her to pick the right thread for the project and she is so helpful in selecting color as well. She offers great suggestions and pull from her vast experience to deliver a beautiful, finished product. Linen pillows, cotton cocktail napkins, children’s items and the most gorgeous felt Christmas tree skirt with wool thread. Sondra is a joy to work with!
